"High fat coconut meal" belongs to protein feed additive products. Copra meal, also known as dried coconut meal, is a by-product obtained by drying the endosperm of coconut into dried coconut and extracting oil. Its output is equivalent to 33% to 36% of dried coconut. It is light brown or brown, with high fiber content and low effective energy value. The amino acid composition of coconut meal is poor, lacking lysine, methionine and histidine, but the content of arginine is high. The fat is saturated fatty acid, and the content of B vitamins is high. It is mainly produced in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Use of coconut meal

Coconut meal is a natural organic feed. It is a product formed by compression of coconut meal after coconut oil is pressed from coconut processing. Coconut meal can be used as raw material for feed production and can replace soybean meal and soybean. Coconut meal is cheap and can be used as the raw material of new feed to reduce the cost of feed production. It is one of the protein sources in animal feed.

characteristic:

Compared with conventional protein raw materials such as fish meal, soybean meal and peanut meal, the crude fiber content of coconut meal is higher (at least 8.0%) and the crude protein content is lower (19% - 23%). The nutritional composition is unstable, and the coconut meal is easy to breed mold and produce toxins. Therefore, when coconut meal is used as animal feed, the formula content should not be too high. It is generally not used for broilers. The amount of chicks and piglets should be reduced as much as possible due to poor palatability. The amount of other chicken feed should be less than 5%, and the amount of fattening pigs should be less than 10%. Coconut meal is a good protein source for ruminants, but in order to prevent constipation, it is appropriate to use less than 20% in concentrate.
